THE GRAND SOLEIL 40 PERFORMANCE

THE GRAND SOLEIL 40 Performance Specifications

The GS 40 Performance is a symphony of style, design, fun and performance and has all the credentials to replicate the great success of the GS 44, winner of the last ORC World Championship in Newport, RI. While maintaining the feeling of style, elegance and safety seen throughout the GS range, the fast and responsive GS 40 reflects its sporting personality in on the water performance.

The Matteo Polli designed hull lines lend maximum attention to the balance of volume as heel increases while the bow profile maintains good performance in light air and ensures smooth passage through waves. The important aft placement of the shaft enabled Nauta Design to execute an innovative layout achieving both performance and comfort.

The deck plan includes 4 winches, self-tacking jib equipped with a recessed track and a fixed-point cockpit position of the mainsheet ensuring it’s an easy to use, luxurious and competitive performer.

The world champion race version amplifies the competitive potential of a boat ready to race as the deck plan is adapted to optimize sail performance, with the addition of 2 more winches, race bowsprit, a hydraulic backstay, jib tracks in transverse position and a recessed mainsail track.

Both race and performance versions include a stern platform that can be opened electronically, equipped with a ladder for easy boarding to the swim platform.

Wide, functional, practical and efficient interiors designed by Nauta Design offer a luxurious and fresh space both for cruising and for moving with agility during regattas and designed to maximize living and galley space which meet the relaxation and comfort needs of the owner and their guests as well as their regatta sailors.
